Android devices come from different manufacturers and their interfaces and features can vary. These steps may differ slightly between different devices and versions of Android. Differences may also exist between campus and personal devices.

1. Go to your device's Settings

2. Tap Accounts

3. Tap Add account

4. Tap Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (depending on device).

5. Complete the configure Exchange fields using the info below and tap Next.

  • Email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Password: Current password

6. Enter the following information (Email address should have auto-filled with the previously supplied information):

  • Username:
  • Password: Current password
  • Server:

7. Tap Next

8. Tap OK on the "Activation" screen.

9. Tap OK on the "Remote security administration" screen.

10. Configure your account options as desired and tap Next

11. Enter "Office 365" in the "Give this account a name (Optional)" field and tap Next.

12. Tap Activate on the "Activate device administrator?" screen.

13. Wait a few moments as Android syncs your mail, settings, and other data.

This document explains how to connect to the Office 365 service using an iOS device. Screenshots were originally taken on an iOS 7 device. Steps should still be similar for iOS 8 & 6. 

Important: Mobile devices, when configured for Office 365 account via Exchange/ActiveSync protocol can be remotely wiped.
Configure iPhone/iPad/iPod for Office 365

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then select Add Account near the top of the right-hand column.

  3. Select Exchange.

  4. On the account setup window, enter the following for each field:
    • Email: 
    • Password: Current password
    • Description: Give the account any name you'd like, such as Office 365

  1. Select Next.
  2. Enter the following information (Email and Description should have auto-filled with the previously supplied information):
  • Server:
  • Username:
  • Password: Current password

  • Click Done/Next.
  • You'll be directed to the enabled account applications page now. Choose what you'd like enabled. It is recommended that you enable all services.

  • Select Save.
  • Select the new account from your list of accounts. It will be listed according to the description you chose for it.
  • Select Mail Days to Sync and set it to No Limit if you would like all of the mail in your inbox to be synced to your device. The default time period is one week.

Note: the more mail that is synced, the longer it may take to get all your messages on to the device.

  • Setup is complete. Email and calendar data (if enabled) are available in the appropriate apps.

iPhone AddAccount

This document explains how to connect to the Office 365 service.

Important: Mobile devices, when configured for your Office 365 account via Exchange/ActiveSync protocol can be remotely wiped.
Note: These instructions will also work for Windows Phone 7.

Configure Windows Phone for Office 365

  1. From the Home screen, tap the right arrow or swipe to the right

  1. Tap Outlook.
    • Note: Tap Exchange if using Windows Phone version 8.1


  1. Enter your account credentials:
    • Email Address:
    • Password: current password
  2. Tap sign in.
  3. It will notify you with, "We're looking for your settings." After a few moments, it will return you to the email + account page. Your account will be listed and should be syncing with your account.
  • Once the email account is no longer greyed out (syncing), click on the account.
  • On the accounts settings screen, enter a preferred name within the "Account name" field - we recommend 'Office 365'.
  • Make any additional changes and tap the check mark.
  1. Return to your home screen and scroll down to the very bottom. You should see a new square indicating your new email account. Tap on this square/tile to view your email.
